Monday Guy and I are hopping a plan to Florida for the week which will be my first trip with my DSLR camera. I can't wait to see the difference in vacation pics with this - I'm hoping to get some great beach photos and sunsets.
So my question is, how do I transport the camera from here to there? I keep it in a nice Canon, padded camera bag so it's my guess that it would be much too bulky to shove in a suitcase. More importantly, even though it is padded, I don't like the picture I see of an airport employee tossing my bag up into the plane. I thought I had an easy solution, take the camera bag as a carry-on. I've got a problem with that though, which is the layover and walking around the Dallas airport for an hour with an obvious camera bag with CANNON written across it. Hey look! That 5'2" woman is carrying expensive photography equipment! Even though my equipment is not nearly as expensive as most, its still pricey.
Am I being over dramatic here? My question to you all with expensive accessories, whether it be camera, laptops, jewelry etc - how do you get it back and forth and make sure it stays safe?
