Guns in the house

I started a post about this months ago when I watched a momversation episode about it. I actually was sort of shocked by the fact that most of the women were not okay with guns in the house and sort of had this notion that it made you a mean, angry person. Somehow it seemed that your willingness to possibly, maybe aim a gun at someone to protect your life means that you don’t value life. I do value life but guess what? Yep, I’m going to say it: I value mine more than yours.

Oh no she didn’t!

Let’s be honest here, let’s say you are snug in your bed next to your spouse, dreaming about Beyonce and drooling onto your pillow. You hear a CRASH! and jump up from your bed, your husband does the same and takes a peak down the hallway. There are two men in your home. Okay let us freeze right here for a moment. We all hope and pray that this will never be us and I know there are many folks in the world that have no fear and are slightly naïve. We can cross our fingers all we want but we know there is a chance that something like that could happen to any of us. So what’s the next step here? You obviously call the police, well, that is if you have a phone in your room because you clearly aren’t going to squeeze past the men to say “ ‘Scuse me, just need to get this phone off the charger!” And people, I have called the police, I’m sorry to say it but those boys are slow.

That reason right there is why I am pro-guns and why we have them in our home. Because in that moment when my heart is racing and I’m looking at my husband with eyes saying do something that he can. He can do something. And so can I. That is the bottom line for me and even though I do greatly value life as I believe most do aside from some very sick people in the world, do you not value your own more than the next person? Would you stand there and let someone hurt you without trying, wanting, yearning to hurt them back? I’m going to guess not.

I would love to get others takes on this and see if there is anyone else out there besides Dana Loesch that agrees with me. Anyone?
