Reba

On the way home from our float trip on Sunday, we were informed we were currently acting as foster parents to a kitten that had tried to make its home at Guy's uncles house. Her new home would be ready for her on Tuesday. Guy's dad left her a crate for her to sleep in and food and water on the front porch. We couldn't find her when we got home and did not get to see the mystery kitty until Monday night while we were watering the plants.

She is so tiny and I don't think she has been able to find food wherever she has been staying until Guy's uncle found her. She is definitely not an outdoors kind of gal and just doesn't seem like she has any type of killer instincts to protect herself. Luca is rather fond of her and I'm sure he could teach her a thing or two about the wild world that is Tanglewood St. She however, is not as found of Luca as he is of her and although she will now tolerate the sight of him, she doesn't want him anywhere near her. I think that is more to do though with her protecting her food dish than unfriendliness.

I finally decided she needed a name after referring to her as That Cat and Reba seemed perfect. We let her in the house on Tuesday night while the dogs were out back bullying squirrels and she inspected the upstairs then landed comfortably on a pillow. She couldn't keep her eyes open but for a minute until the dogs came in to tell her who was boss. As soon as they calmed down she got comfy again and kept moving closer and closer to Halle. In the end, it just didn't work out because the dogs are just not going to have it. So for now we just see her in the evenings to eat and get some attention and hopefully these potential kitty parents will take her soon. I feel very guilty she is outside, especially with all the thunderstorms we have had lately. If anyone is interested in a very sweet, animal loving, indoor kitten let me know. Reba is lovely.
